Sliding Scale

I offer an equitable sliding scale because healing shouldn’t be limited by financial circumstances. Every private-pay (non-insurance) client is invited to self-assess their resources and choose the rate that feels possible for them.

Accessible - $70-$95 / session

Sustainable - $100-$135 / session

Equitable - $140-$180 / session

  • Support dependents or have caregiving responsibilities

  • Have medical expenses not fully covered by insurance

  • Are an elder with limited financial support

  • Have immigration-related expenses

  • Are an unpaid community organizer or returning citizen facing employment barriers

  • Experience discrimination in hiring or pay level

  • Are descended from enslaved people or Native Americans

Choosing this rate covers the cost of providing therapy in a way that is sustainable for me as a clinician and for Wild Ember as a practice rooted in ethical, intentional community care rather than profit.

You identify with some/most of the following:

  • Meet your basic needs but experience occasional financial stress

  • May have debt that requires careful budgeting

  • Rent or own modest housing

  • Work full-time, part-time, or self-employed with some income variability

  • Have limited savings or resources for emergencies

  • Can usually cover essentials and occasional discretionary expenses

  • Access to healthcare but may experience some financial strain

Choosing this rate is a way of tending to our shared care. It helps redistribute resources within the community and supports the ability to offer lower-cost sessions to those who need them.

  • May have some debt but can reliably cover essentials

  • Own a home or other property

  • Own or have reliable access to a car

  • Are employed or financially independent

  • Have regular access to healthcare

  • Have savings, investments, or retirement accounts

  • Have discretionary income for travel, hobbies, or personal purchases

  • Can take vacations or time off without financial strain
